Because the bottom section of the stalk if bitter and tough to eat, use only the meatier parts, which can be found by snapping the bottom off. It would snap apart at the area where the two different sections meet.
As the vegetable can dry out easily, apply some oil on the stalks when they are on the grill so that they do not lose their juice. You could whether brush some oil lightly on each stalk, or marinate the stalks. If you select to marinate, more preparations will be needed as you will need to pour the marinade sauce into the bag filled with asparagus with the damp paper towels taken off. Place them in the refrigerator and leave them to marinate for half an hour. After that, you can take off the asparagus from the marinade, with its excess dripped off, and onto the grill.
When you grill them, keep them lying tightly together, and not on top of one another. Grill them for two minutes on high heat and then turn the stalks over carefully with tongs and then grill for other two minutes. If needed, you can cook them longer. After that, it is all ready to be eaten. Serve, and enjoy!
